Connie’s leadership style is one that many at Wings connect with and appreciate. When she joined Wings in 2001, Connie was taken by the amazing transformation of clients at a Wings makeover workshop. She knew right away that she wanted to make a contribution to Wings. Since then, Connie has maintained an unwavering commitment to the Wings vision. She has inspired those she leads to always focus on the needs of Wings’ clients and rise above any challenges facing the organization. As a Board member for more than five years, Connie served a year as Vice President and five years as President (all while continuing to dress clients weekly). Connie has shepherded the Wings volunteers through the growing pains of moving from a grassroots organization to one with a sustained and vital service in the community. And she has helped develop Wings by using her keen people insights by recognizing individual interests and matching them to the organization’s needs. EmploymentOwner, C. Kelly came to Wings two years ago with a passion for fashion on a budget. Starting as a volunteer trained in dressing clients, the fun she and her clients shared in building new outfits quickly blossomed into a deep sense of gratitude and fulfillment. Kelly saw how her help and words of encouragement sent a client away with not only new clothing but also a new outlook on herself. As Board Secretary, Kelly contributes her experience with operational procedures and effectiveness. She also applies the writing training from her undergraduate degree to the Newsletter Committee. And, of course, Kelly continues to work at the heart of Wings by dressing clients. EmploymentSr. Business Analyst in Technology Production Assurance Affiliations

Community service has been an important part of Bonnie’s life since an early age, so getting involved has never been just an idle hobby. When she joined Wings in 2005, however, Bonnie found the experience to be more than just giving back. She found an amazingly spiritual peacefulness that came from helping women facing times tougher than most women will ever experience. Like many at Wings, Bonnie also found an organization unencumbered by complexity and contention – a group of women aligned for a single purpose. So Bonnie’s contributions quickly expanded beyond client dressing, which she continues to do weekly, to applying her experience in event planning, fund raising, and people management as Board Treasurer, Committee Chair and project leader for special events. Carol has been with the organization since its inception in 1997, attracted to it as a way to give all women a chance at a better life. Over the years, Carol has participated in almost all areas of the organization at one time or another. She initiated the “Wing Tips” newsletter, as well as the organization’s database and financial record keeping. But working directly with clients is what keeps her ready and willing to do whatever needs to be done to keep the organization moving forward. Along with being a walking history of Wings For Success, Carol currently writes grants and keeps an eye on office operations. She is most happy spending time with her 4 delightful grandchildren, but displays a constant and deep commitment to Wings with the many hours she spends supporting the efforts of everyone at Wings.
