Connie’s leadership style is one that many at Wings connect with and appreciate. When she joined Wings in 2001, Connie was taken by the amazing transformation of clients at a Wings makeover workshop. She knew right away that she wanted to make a contribution to Wings. Since then, Connie has maintained an unwavering commitment to the Wings vision. She has inspired those she leads to always focus on the needs of Wings’ clients and rise above any challenges facing the organization. As a Board member for more than five years, Connie served a year as Vice President and five years as President (all while continuing to dress clients weekly). Connie has shepherded the Wings volunteers through the growing pains of moving from a grassroots organization to one with a sustained and vital service in the community. And she has helped develop Wings by using her keen people insights by recognizing individual interests and matching them to the organization’s needs. EmploymentOwner, C. Kelly came to Wings two years ago with a passion for fashion on a budget. Starting as a volunteer trained in dressing clients, the fun she and her clients shared in building new outfits quickly blossomed into a deep sense of gratitude and fulfillment. Kelly saw how her help and words of encouragement sent a client away with not only new clothing but also a new outlook on herself. As Board Secretary, Kelly contributes her experience with operational procedures and effectiveness. She also applies the writing training from her undergraduate degree to the Newsletter Committee. And, of course, Kelly continues to work at the heart of Wings by dressing clients. EmploymentSr. Business Analyst in Technology Production Assurance Affiliations

Jackie’s passion for supporting the underserved focuses on a “hand up versus a hand out.” Prior to joining Wings, Jackie served as Board President and Board Member with Delaware Futures, a non-profit that prepares economically disadvantaged high school students for college, and she was a Board Member for Sankofa Academy Charter School, a public charter school. Jackie also offers her resources and assistance to people in Africa, including periodic visits. Jackie first experienced Wings in 2007 when she donated her professional coaching skills for a Board development project. As often happens when service-minded people meet other committed Wings volunteers, a unity of purpose emerged. As a Board Advisor and now Board Member, Jackie’s deep human resources expertise, non-profit leadership experience, and solutions-oriented approach have brought important perspectives to the leadership team and the strategic planning work underway.

Empowering the local community has always been a priority for Stephanie, so her involvement with Wings for Success is a perfect blend of her interests and background in helping to manage an organization’s infrastructure.
