For Clients: Growing Wings with Career Clothing

Dressing appropriately for your training
program, job interview, and first few weeks
at work can make a big difference in your
confidence and the first impressions you
make. So we work hard to help you look
your best in a style matched to your training
or work situation and one that fits your
personal preferences. To help you prepare
for your experience at Wings, we put
together this list of the questions we
get most. Contact us or your agency
if you need additional help.

How do I make an appointment?
Your appointment with Wings gets scheduled based on a referral from an agency helping you with your situation. Your agency contacts Wings and either makes the appointment for you, or you can contact Wings for an appointment once the agency has contacted us. Once you have a job, if you need additional clothing for the workplace, you may contact Wings directly for a second appointment. Appointments are available Monday through Friday, with Saturday morning appointments available if needed. You should allow at least 1 hour for your appointment.

How long will my appointment take?
Allow about one hour for your appointment. If you are coming for scrubs, allow about 30 minutes.

Where are you located?
Our office is in the Frazer Shopping Center at 490 Lancaster Ave. Click here for directions.

Can someone from my agency drive me or come with me?
Yes. If your agency accompanies or drives you to the appointment, the caseworker and/or driver must remain at our location for the entire appointment, unless other arrangements have been made with the Wings Program Manager.

Can I come with another client?
Yes, Wings can accommodate a group dressing appointment of up to four clients at a time. When making your appointment, please let the Wings Program Manager know if more than one client will be coming so we are staffed accordingly.

Can I bring my kids or a friend?
This is a time to focus on yourself, so please do not bring children or other adults to your dressing appointment. However, if you need someone to drive you, they may wait for you in our waiting area but should not interfere with the appointment. Please also let them know to expect about an hour wait.

What if I’m running late or need to reschedule?
Please call us at 610-644-6323 if you are running late, need to reschedule, or need to cancel.

Do I need to bring anything to Wings?
No, but you will need to help us with a little paperwork when you arrive. You will be met by a Personal Clothing Stylist, a trained Wings volunteer who is dedicated to helping you with your clothing. She will ask you to fill out a client form for our records before getting started with your clothes.

What is the process of getting clothes like?

Your Personal Clothing Stylist will first talk with you about your needs, such as whether you need clothes for a training program, an interview outfit, or clothes for on the job and what the work atmosphere is like. She will also ask about your clothing tastes and sizes to help her design an appropriate look.

Wings Clothing Stylists have access to a closet with clothing in sizes from 0 to 5X, all in excellent condition and in current styles. Your Clothing Stylist will present you with options to try on, allowing you each to verify sizes and, most importantly, arrive at a look that your stylist recommends for your situation and that you feel comfortable and confident in wearing.

Once your clothing has been selected, your Personal Clothing Stylist may help you with other needs, depending on the situation. This might include stockings, shoes, a handbag, and accessories, as well as new foundation garments (bras, underwear) depending on current stock.

Will you have clothes in my size?
The Wings clothing closet contains clothing in sizes from 0 to 5X, all in excellent condition and in current styles. If your situation requires specific clothing items or colors, please let us know when you make your appointment. Should we find you have a need we are unable to meet, such as scrubs in a certain size that we don’t have in stock at the moment, we will purchase them for you.

Is Wings a clothing store?
Wings For Success is not a store. We rely on donations of new and gently used clothing in current styles. This means our inventory changes from day to day and an item will probably not be available in other sizes. This also means the Wings Personal Clothing Stylists are the only ones with access to the Wings clothing closets.

Does working with Wings cost me anything?
There is absolutely no charge to our clients for our services or clothing. We only ask you to fill out a feedback form to help us give our clients the best possible experience at Wings.
