Your Donation Will Help Empower Women in Need

In a few weeks, many of us will engage in the annual ritual of making new years’ resolutions: promises to change our lives for the better. Without support and encouragement, however, those promises can be hard to keep. Wings for Success provides much needed support and encouragement to women who summon the courage and resolve to move forward from challenging circumstances such as homelessness, domestic abuse, or a long absence from the workforce.

For 18 years, Wings for Success has been there to catch them when they take the leap of faith to transform their lives. We provide work-appropriate apparel, advice and advocacy to support their quest for employment, self-sufficiency and financial stability. We are proud to have helped more than 8,000 women since our founding.

But just as our clients can’t do it alone, neither can we. We rely on financial support to maintain the two facilities out of which we operate, to present free workshops across our community, and to provide client transportation when needed. Your support is just as vital to us as our support is to the women who need us.

To help us continue to empower women in need, please click here to make your tax-deductible donation to Wings for Success today. Thank you so much for your support and generosity.

Winter Fashion Trend: Seeing Things in Black and White

Graphic black and white patterns—from checks to stripes to abstracts—are a dominant fashion trend this winter season. Update your look without breaking the bank by adding black and white accessories to your winter wardrobe:

  • Try a black and white winter hat/scarf combo for warmth and style
  • Add chunky jewelry for a touch of funk
  • Slip on a pair of patterned trouser socks just for fun!

Wings Names Interim Executive Director

Wings is pleased to announce that Robyn Slater has been named our Interim Executive Director, a role she will assume on January 4, 2016.

Robyn, who joined the Wings for Success Board in January 2012, recognizes the importance of acquiring a positive self image amidst life’s constant obligations. In addition to her position at Wings, Robyn is the Regional Vulnerable Populations Coordinator at the Chester County Department of Emergency Services, which aims to find and better serve vulnerable populations in emergencies.

Wings is confident that Robyn will excel in this role and provide strong leadership for us as we enter the new year. We also wish to thank and acknowledge LeeAnn Riloff, who served as Executive Director for two-and-a-half years, and made a positive and meaningful impact on our organization.

2014 Annual Report Captures Year's Highlights

Wings is pleased to make available our 2014 Annual Report. More than an overview of our financials, this Annual Report highlights our many accomplishments throughout the year.

From serving more than 600 clients to laying the groundwork for the opening of our new Kennett Square facility to launching our first-ever Fashion Forward fashion show, Wings made great strides in 2014 that have paved the way for our ongoing growth and success.

Wings Fling Proves Highly Successful

Wings' largest fundraiser of the year, Wings Fling, drew a large and enthusiastic crowd on October 15th. Held at the Downingtown Country Club, the event raised more money this year than in any other.

In addition to a festive atmosphere and a stunning display of silent auction items, the evening featured personal stories from several Wings' clients. Hearing the moving stories of women who overcame personal and economic struggles to find workplace success was certainly a highlight of the evening.

Wings wishes to thank our sponsors, attendees, those who donated silent auction items, and especially our emcee, QVC program host, Leah Williams.

Recent Events to Benefit Wings

Over the past few months, multiple organizations sponsored fundraisers and special projects to directly benefit our organization. A sincere thanks goes out to...

  • Illuminate Boutique Salon Spa—for its Gratitude Gathering event on November 17th in Haverford
  • Kennett Square Country Club—for its Make a Difference Day fundraiser

Your commitment to our mission means the world to us!
