Our fourth annual Wine with Wings fundraiser went virtual this year—a first for us! While we were disappointed to not be able to celebrate together in person, we were thrilled by the outpouring of support and generosity from the community. Guests joined us from near and far, all from the comforts of home, as Gunnar Mossblad, a local Grammy-nominated jazz musician, kicked off our live stream event with some beautiful tunes. The evening’s program highlighted some of the inspiring women we have served, including a moving testimonial from Cheryl, a Wings client who found herself unexpectedly needing our services during a time of transition in her life.
Our most successful Wine with Wings to date, this event raised over $40,000 to empower women in our community by equipping them with clothing essentials and job readiness advice.
We want to extend a special thank you to the following groups and individuals who made the evening possible:
Harvest Ridge Winery: Kristi and Erin from Harvest Ridge Winery joined us remotely from their tasting room in Toughkenamon, PA, to share some wine and food pairings. Harvest Ridge Winery is continuing to offer a special promotion. Now through July 7th, they will donate 10% of all wine purchases back to Wings for Success! Be sure to mention Wings for Success when ordering by phone: 484-915-2190 or through their website, https://shop.harvestridgewinery.com/.
Our volunteers. Kelly Quant, Wings Kennett Square Program Manager, took a moment to recognize our amazing volunteers. From packing bags of emergency clothing for our clients working on the front lines to facilitating virtual workshops to providing one-on-one advice, our volunteers have allowed us to continue providing our services during these uncertain times.
Sponsors, donors and guests. Thank you to all of our sponsors, the local businesses that donated auction items and all who participated in our online auction and live stream event. Your generosity has made it possible for us to continue our mission…to empower women in need to pursue employment and economic security through apparel, advice and advocacy.
If you were unable to join our live stream event, click here to view a recording.
Thank you to our Wine with Wings Committee!
Despite the challenges of having to transition our annual Wine with Wings fundraiser from an in-person wine tasting experience to an at-home virtual event, the incredible team of staff and volunteers on our Wine with Wings Committee made this year’s event the most successful one to date. From securing sponsorships to delivering wine packages and silent auction items to gathering family and friends to support our event, our committee members worked together to create an inspirational evening, showing our community the impact we have on the lives of the women we serve. Thank you to our Wine with Wings Committee for your dedication to our mission and commitment to the women we serve.
In the weeks leading up to Wine with Wings, we created the following series of videos highlighting our clients, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters.

Wine with Wings 2021
This year’s Wine with Wings fundraiser was a combination of an online virtual event, in-person event and an online silent auction and raffle!
We are so grateful to all who supported Wings and this fundraiser. Every dollar raised helps us continue to equip women to find employment and reach financial stability.
We were thrilled to partner with Harvest Ridge Winery and Sherm’s Catering to provide a fun tasting experience for those who supported our fundraiser with $50 and $100 donations leading up to our virtual event on May 26th. Supporters received a wine bag with their choice of red or white wine from Harvest Ridge along with a stemless wineglass and two free wine tastings at the Harvest Ridge Winery tasting room. Our $100 donation supporters were also treated to a box of six delicious appetizers from Sherm’s Catering to enjoy while watching our virtual event!
Watch Our Virtual Event
We opened our Virtual Event on May 26th with recognition of our sponsors & event planning committee, then shared a preview of the jazz quartet who played at our In-Person Event on June 3rd. During our program (which begins at the 11:20 mark), we highlighted stories from women whose lives have been transformed from their time at Wings, a food and wine pairing segment with Sherm’s Catering & Harvest Ridge Winery, and more details about participating in our silent auction and raffle. We strive to help the women of our community gain the confidence to overcome any obstacles they are facing and reach a place of economic stability. It is wonderful to help women, like our client Evelyn who was featured in our video, achieve their goals and spread their wings!
In-Person Event – Thursday, June 3rd
We were thrilled to see so many smiling faces at our In-Person Event on June 3rd at The Gables at Chadds Ford – we’ve missed celebrating with everyone! The evening’s thunderstorm didn’t dampen our spirits as we joined together to sample Harvest Ridge wines paired with light appetizers from The Gables.
Guests enjoyed mingling and visiting with friends while a Jazz Quartet of local high school students entertained the crowd. Wings Executive Director, Jill Laufenberg, along with our Wine with Wings Committee Co-Chairs, Pat Foell & Vicky Will, welcomed everyone and Jill shared how vital community support is in providing our essential services that empower and equip women and girls.

Our Silent Auction featured an amazing array of 44 silent auction packages – from a destination vacation, food & drink packages, local experiences, beauty & personal care packages to fabulous fashion accessories, and more. Guests were able to easily bid on items through our online bidding site and were even notified by text when they were outbid!
Our Raffle included an overnight stay at The Inn at Laurita Winery, a private dinner party at your home, a package for fans of local breweries, and our ever popular Instant Wine Cellar that included 20 bottles of wine, cheers!

Wine with Wings 2020
Watch to see a few women who found help & guidance at Wings.
Watch how our Wings volunteers had an impact on one client’s life.
Watch to hear our Wine with Wings sponsors share why they support us and the women we serve.
Watch to see some of our Wings volunteers and supporters who give so generously to our organization.

Wine with Wings 2019
Our 3rd annual wine tasting event, Wine with Wings, was held May 2 at Kennett Square Golf and Country Club where guests enjoyed wines from local winery 1723 Vineyards, food pairings, a silent auction, “wine grab” and Live Ask. A special addition to the entertainment this year was a Jazz Trio of musicians from Rustin High School. The musicians added extra energy and fun to the evening!
Wine with Wings was a great success and we are grateful to all those who contributed their time, talent, in-kind and financial donations. The funds raised at Wine with Wings support our Kennett Square location and help Wings for Success serve vulnerable women in the Southern Chester County and Wilmington areas. That support and generosity make it possible for us to continue our mission…to empower women in need to pursue employment and economic security through apparel, advice and advocacy.
